Robyn Freiheit is a strategist and expert generalist who bridges sectors, disciplines, and cultures to address complex, interconnected challenges. She holds a Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of British Columbia (Canada) and a Master of Public Health from the University of Porto (Portugal), in addition to a Certification in Food & Sustainability from the European Institute of Innovation for Sustainability (Italy).

Working at the intersection of food systems, sustainability, and public health, Robyn applies a human-centred, systems-thinking approach to design and implement equitable, regenerative solutions. Her cross-sectoral expertise spans end-to-end project management, coalition building, stakeholder engagement, opportunity identification, and strategic communications.

Robyn conducted the first comprehensive research on food insecurity across the Azores, Portugal’s nine-island archipelago, analyzing the contextual factors shaping food access and availability. Her work and interests focus on food sovereignty, decolonizing food systems, strengthening shorter supply chains, value chain development, and advancing local livelihoods through place-based, community-driven approaches.
